Abstract

Background: Patients suffering from non-compliant cerebral ventricles syndrome constitute a heterogeneous group whose care can be very complex, until now there is no scientific evidence to dictate standard measures. Material and method: A review of the last ten years was carried out, using the full article Medline / Pubmed, Imbiomed and SciELO platforms, in English and Spanish. The keywords “valve hyperdrainage syndrome”, “slit ventricular syndrome” and “valve hyperfunction syndrome” were used. Conclusions: Patients with non-compliant ventricular syndrome often represent a therapeutic challenge. For screening, pathophysiological multifactoriality, clinical type and information provided by neuroimaging and neurophysiological studies must be taken into account.
