Enfermedad moyamoya: una enfermedad vascular cerebral poco conocida en chile

Abstract

Moyamoya Disease (MD) is a cerebral occlusive vasculopathy that is not very prevalent worldwide, characterized by its characteristic “cloud of cigarette smoke” image demonstrated on angiography. There are few studies in the literature about this disease in Latin America, especially in Chile, where it is considered a rare disease. In the following article, a brief review of MD will be carried out, including the cases documented in the Chilean literature.
